The Montpellier Méditerranée International Airport is located just 8 km away from the city center. Travelling between the airport and the city center is easy with shuttle-bus services and taxis operating regularly (travel time around 15 minutes).
There direct flights from many European cities (see table underneath). However, flights from overseas and other European cities go via Paris. There are up to 16 direct daily flights from both Paris airports (Charles de Gaulle and Orly) to Montpellier, flying time is 1 hour. Montpellier is also well connected to several European cities via Lyon, where stopovers are usually very short.

You might find even more affordable options flying to one of the airports located close to Montpellier. There are many low-cost airlines flying regularly to Marseilles Airport, Béziers Airport, Carcassonne Airport, Toulouse Airport and Lyon Airport. From these cities Montpellier can be reached easily by train in less 2 hours.
It is easy to travel to Montpellier by train. The train station Montpellier Saint-Roch is located right in the centre of the Montpellier and is only about 5 minutes’ walk away from our French language school.
Montpellier is on the main TGV (High speed train) line Paris – Lyon – Montpellier – Perpignan – Barcelona and has connections to all major cities in France and Europe. The travel time between Paris (Gare de Lyon) and Montpellier is approx. 3 hours 15 minutes. Each day several trains also leave straight from Charles de Gaulle-Roissy airport in Paris (travel time to Montpellier is 3 hours and 45 minutes) making a connection in Paris very convenient.
